Death and Blessings - Wiki - Puria Online
Death and Blessings
What you lose when you die, how blessings protect you, the free blessings up to level 30 and where to buy them later.
Death on Puria is real: it costs experience, skills and, if you are unprotected, items. Blessings make it far less painful, and up to level 30 they are free.
What you lose when you die
| What | Without blessings | With all 5 blessings |
|---|---|---|
| Experience and level | Your full death penalty | About one third less |
| Skills and magic level | Your full death penalty | About one third less |
| Equipment | Each item has a chance to drop | 100% protected |
| Backpack and its contents | Dropped | 100% protected |
The base penalty grows with your level. Below level 25 it is a flat 10% of your experience. Promoted characters lose 30% less.
ImportantWith all five blessings your items are 100% protected. The only exception is dying with a red skull, which drops your equipment no matter what.
Item loss without blessings
Every blessing lowers the chance of losing items:
| Blessings | Chance for your backpack to drop | Chance for each equipped item |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 100% | about 10% |
| 1 | 70% | about 7% |
| 2 | 45% | about 4.5% |
| 3 | 25% | about 2.5% |
| 4 | 10% | about 1% |
| 5 | 0% | 0% |
Free blessings (up to level 30)
Until level 30 you receive all five blessings for free, automatically, every time you log in. After a death you get them back at your next login.
- At level 31 the free blessings end immediately and you receive a message telling you where to buy them.
- Players with a skull (white or red) do not receive free blessings. If you die with a skull, the free blessings are removed before the penalty is calculated.
- Blessings you bought are never removed by this rule.
Buying blessings
Henricus (in game, with gold)
Henricus sells all five blessings at once. He lives in Thais, one floor underground.
| Your level | Price |
|---|---|
| Up to 30 | 10,000 gold |
| Above 30 | 10,000 gold + 1,000 gold for each level above 30 |
Examples: level 40 pays 20,000 gold, level 50 pays 30,000 gold, level 100 pays 80,000 gold. Say hi, then blessings. He also tells you your price if you say price.
The Store (with Puria Points)
The All Blessings offer in the in-game Store costs 10 Puria Points, whatever your level. See Store and Puria Points.
The Bless Card
The Bless Card (Store, 10 Puria Points; also in the Season Pass) is an item with the five blessings. Use it when you want, or give or sell it to another player. It only works if you are missing at least one blessing.
The golden border
When you have all five blessings, the slots of your inventory turn golden. One look tells you whether you are protected before going on a dangerous hunt.
Amulet of Loss
An Amulet of Loss protects all your items on death, even without blessings (it does not reduce the experience loss). It breaks when you die. It does not work if you have a red skull. You can buy it in the Store (Utilities) for 5 Puria Points.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy blessings before level 30?
No. You have all five for free until level 30.
Are my items really 100% safe with five blessings?
Yes. With all five blessings you keep every item, equipped or in the backpack. The only exception is a red skull.
How much do blessings cost at my level?
10,000 gold up to level 30, plus 1,000 gold for each level above 30. For example, level 60 pays 40,000 gold. In the Store they cost 10 Puria Points at any level.
I died. Do I lose my blessings?
Yes. Blessings are used up when you die, so buy them again before your next dangerous hunt. Free blessings (up to level 30) come back on their own at your next login.
Do blessings remove the experience loss completely?
No. They reduce it by about one third. Items are fully protected; experience and skills are reduced, not saved.
What does the golden border on my inventory mean?
You have all five blessings.
Why didn't my free blessings protect me?
You probably had a skull. Free blessings do not protect players with a skull.
Do I need blessings and an Amulet of Loss?
With five blessings your items are already 100% safe, so the amulet adds nothing. The amulet is useful when you have no blessings, but it does not reduce the experience loss.
