Vocations and Promotion
The four vocations, how to choose, and how to get promoted.
You choose your vocation with the Oracle in Rookgaard, between level 8 and 10 (see Rookgaard, Aldric's Missions and the Journal). The choice is permanent, so read this first.
The four vocations

TipAll vocations can hunt alone, but a Party and Shared Experience with different vocations gets a bigger experience bonus (up to +40% with all four).
Promotion
At level 20 a premium character can be promoted:

How to get it:
Talk to King Tibianus in Thais, Queen Eloise in Carlin or Emperor Kruzak in Kazordoon.
It costs 20,000 gold (it has to be in your backpack).
What you gain:
- faster regeneration of health and mana (see Rates);
- 30% less experience lost when you die.
Good to knowIf your premium ends, a promoted character goes back to its base vocation at login. When premium returns, the promotion comes back by itself and you don't pay again.

Spells
Every vocation learns its spells from the spell NPCs in the cities. On Puria free accounts can learn and use every spell. The full list is on the Spells page of the website.
Frequently asked questions
Which vocation is the best?
None is the best at everything. Knights are the safest and cheapest, Paladins are the most balanced, Sorcerers deal the most magic damage and Druids heal the best.
Can I change my vocation later?
No. The Oracle's choice is permanent.
Where do I get promoted?
From King Tibianus in Thais castle or Queen Eloise in Carlin castle (Emperor Kruzak in Kazordoon promotes too). Say "hi" and "promotion".
How much does the promotion cost?
20,000 gold. You need level 20 and a premium account.
What do I need to be promoted?
Level 20, a premium account and 20,000 gold. Talk to King Tibianus (Thais) or Queen Eloise (Carlin).
Why does my paladin's Sudden Death hit so little?
In paladin hands the Sudden Death rune deals 30% of its normal damage. This is intentional, to keep the vocations balanced.
