Venore: Guildmaster Mercer and the missions of the city

Guildmaster Mercer's ten missions in Venore, from level 40 to 150: two new bosses, three ranks with shop discounts in the city and the first Nobleman addon.

In Venore everything has a price, and the Merchants' Guild sets it. Canals, barges and gold — and a swamp that smells of all three.

The Shadowthorn elves attack the caravans, cyclopes block the roads and dragons burn the warehouses. In the swamp, something huge sinks the barges: Mother Gloomwater. And to the south open the Pits of Inferno, floor after floor going down to the fire, all the way to Ashkarion the Pitlord.

Guildmaster Mercer waits in the temple. Ten missions, from level 40 to 150 — the Guild pays well for those who solve problems.

Guildmaster Mercer

Guildmaster Mercer stands in the temple of Venore. Say hi. If you never chose a language with Commander Aldric or Captain Harkon, he asks whether you prefer English or Portuguese (say language to change it later).

The ten missions must be done in order. Ask about the missions, accept with yes and come back when you are done: a finished mission is handed in as soon as you greet Mercer.

# Mission Level What to do Reward
1 The Shadowthorn elves 40 100 × elf, elf scout, elf arcanist 21,000 experience and 6,500 gold
2 The hill cyclopes 45 80 × cyclops 24,000 experience and 8,000 gold
3 Dragons of the south 55 40 × dragon 42,000 experience and 12,000 gold
4 The dragon lords 65 30 × dragon lord 63,000 experience and 17,000 gold
5 Mother of the swamp 75 Mother Gloomwater 27,000 experience and 22,500 gold
6 Shadows of the Pits 90 40 × spectre, diabolic imp, nightmare 83,000 experience and 32,500 gold

10 The Pitlord 150 Ashkarion the Pitlord 210,000 experience and 90,000 gold

Kills count anywhere in the world while the mission is active, and you see your progress in the server log. Summoned creatures do not count. If two cities ask for the same creature at the same time, one kill counts for both.

The bosses

  • Mother Gloomwater, an old bog hydra in the swamp south of Venore. Comes back every 30 minutes.
  • Ashkarion the Pitlord, the demon lord at the deepest point of the Pits of Inferno, south of Venore. Comes back every 60 minutes.

You don't need the last hit: everyone who damaged the boss with the mission active gets the credit.

Good to knowThe bosses only fight adventurers on their mission (and the members of their party). Other players passing by are ignored: the boss and its summons don't attack them, and they can't attack the boss.

Reputation and ranks

Every mission raises your standing in Venore. Ranks are permanent.

Missions Rank What you get
3 Trusted Trader of Venore 5% off everything you buy from the shops of Venore
6 Guildsworn of Venore 10% off your purchases and 5% more when you sell to the shops of Venore
10 Patron of Venore the same discounts, plus the first Nobleman addon
  • The discount works in the trade window and when you buy or sell by talking, with every shop NPC inside Venore. Vendol (the merchant who buys everything) is the only exception.
  • Your rank appears when other players look at you. With ranks in several cities, they all appear in one sentence.

Good to knowThe Nobleman outfit is a Premium outfit. The addon is yours forever, but you can only wear it while you have Premium. See Premium Account.

The city boss: Morvenna the Bog Witch

Once you reach the highest rank, say swamp to Mercer and you are taken to the antechamber of Morvenna the Bog Witch, the city boss: alone or with up to 4 players, once a day, with a Venorean Boss Bag in your depot as the reward. Full guide: Morvenna the Bog Witch.

The Journal: Chapter VI

Your Journal (Ctrl+J) opens a new chapter in Venore: your arrival and the day you met Mercer, the missions, 7 places to discover, 23 creatures to hunt for the first time, the two bosses and your ranks.

The Hall of Venore

The website has a Hall of Venore with the story of the city, the ranks, how many heroes finished each mission and an honor roll. Players with the highest rank in all five cities (Thais, Carlin, Ab'Dendriel, Kazordoon and Venore) become Heroes of the Realm and appear on the Cities page.
