Morvenna the Bog Witch

The Venore city boss: a swamp witch who poisons the floor, curses one of you and floods the room with a deadly tide.

Updated 2026-10-12 · 6 questions answered

Morvenna sold the swamp to the demons of the Pits, and now she collects the debt from every barge that leaves Venore. Guildmaster Mercer pays well for her head, but only to those who finished every mission of the city.

How to get there

  1. Complete Guildmaster Mercer's 10 missions (in the temple of Venore). See Venore: Guildmaster Mercer and the missions of the city.
  2. Talk to Mercer and say swamp (or morvenna). You are taken to the antechamber.
  3. Stand on the 4 dark marble spots in front of the lever. The player who pulls stands on the spot next to the lever.
  4. Pull the lever. Everyone on the spots enters together.

The magic forcefield in the corner of the antechamber takes you back to the Venore temple. Inside the room, the forcefield in the bottom-right corner takes you back to the antechamber.

Every day

The missions are done only once. After that, every day: talk to Mercer and say swamp, stand on the spots and pull the lever. Win or lose, you can enter again 24 hours after you entered. Type !bosses in game to see how long is left.

Attacks

Attack Damage (group of 4)
Melee up to 450
Death bolt at range 250 to 420
Poison wave in front of her (earth) 250 to 400
Life drain around her 150 to 300

Alone you take 75% of this, with 2 players 85%, with 3 players 95%.

The mechanics

Every mechanic is announced: a red message in the middle of the screen, and the danger is marked on the floor before it hurts. When the fight starts you also get a summary.

1. Toxic Bog: step off the green floor

Every 10 seconds (every 7 in her fury) she shouts "Sink, little merchants!". The floor under each player and nearby flashes green for 3 seconds, poisons for 350 to 550 and becomes a poison field for 6 seconds.

2. The Curse: spread out

From the 14th second, every 22 seconds she curses a player: "Name owes me a soul!". For 6 seconds, the cursed player takes a little death damage every second, and every other player within 2 squares of them takes 200 to 300. Everyone gets a message saying who is cursed.

TipThe cursed player walks away from the group; the others stay away. Alone, the curse only costs you a little health.

3. The Rising Tide: run to the stone (55% and 25%)

At 55% and 25% she yells "THE BOG RISES!". You have 4 seconds (the mud bubbles) to reach the dark stone platform in the middle of the room. For the next 8 seconds, everyone off the platform takes 250 to 350 death damage every second.

TipThe platform is 8×8: there is room for the whole group. There is no curse during the tide.

4. Fury (20%)

Below 20% she yells "YOUR DEBT IS DUE!", hits 30% harder and the toxic bog comes every 7 seconds.

Strategy

  • Bring antidote spells and potions: poison is everywhere.
  • She resists death and earth. Use holy and fire.
  • Fight near the stone platform so you are never far from it when the tide comes.
  • This is the strongest city boss: her bag has the best drops, including boots of haste and a very rare magic plate armor.

The reward: the Venorean Boss Bag

Each player who took part receives a Venorean Boss Bag in their Venore depot. If you died or disconnected, it arrives at your next login. See City Bosses.
